Sydney Sweeney on her transformation: American actress Sydney Sweeney opened up about the physical transformation she underwent for portraying the role of boxer Christy Martin. The actress shared how her body reacted to the intense training sessions, which made her look completely different. To achieve the perfect body shape, Sydney Sweeney underwent three and a half months of rigorous training. Talking about her body weight, the actress mentioned that she gained 30 pounds to mirror Christy Martin’s toned figure.

Sydney Sweeney explained her routine during an interview with W Magazine and said, "I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour." The actress revealed how her jeans size got changed due to the transformation and said, “My body was completely different. I didn’t fit in any of my clothes. I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, Oh my god.”

Despite all the challenges, the Euphoria star admitted that she felt strong and was empowered by her new physique. "But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong," she exclaimed. Sydney also talked about her sports background and how it helped her in the movie. She recalled, "I would have bruises all over me. I loved it! My mom always wanted to make sure that acting wasn’t the only thing in my life."

Director David Michod praised Sydney's dedication by saying, she “trained her butt off to play the part.” David also mentioned that Sydney was happiest when she was in the ring practising, punching, and being punched. He was also surprised to see Sydney get back to her original physique, just seven weeks after completing her shooting schedule.
