Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy, two prominent television stars, are set to star in a new rom-com movie. Badgley, best known for depicting Dan Humphrey in Gossip Girl, also garnered acclaim for the role of Joe Goldberg in Netflix's popular thriller series You. On the other hand, Meghan Fahy is best known for her notable roles in the second season of HBO's The White Lotus. This has been a particularly busy year for Fahy as she made an appearance in the February release of Christopher Landon’s thriller, Drop. She is currently starring in Netflix's Sirens along with Milly Alcock and Julianne Moore.
Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, will headline You Deserve Each Other, an Amazon MGM romantic comedy based on the novel by Sarah Hogle. The book was very well received, earning two nominations at the Goodreads Choice Awards (for Best Romance and Best Debut). It was also an Amazon Editors’ Pick for Best Romance.

Know You Deserve Each Other’s Plot
You Deserve Each Other is referred to as a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy. The story revolves around Naomi and Nick, who seem to have it all figured out as they're engaged, planning their wedding. The twist in the story is that they are just pretending to be engaged while trying to break up. They have secretly fallen out of love. With the wedding coming up, and a lot of pressure on both sides, they both start to attempt to get the other to call off the engagement. They use goofy pranks, tricks, and even emotional mind games to sabotage their own relationship. However, in doing that, they also begin to rediscover everything that they secretly love about each other.
You Deserve Each Other Movie’s Creative Team
The movie will be directed by Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn. The pair have written several popular romantic comedies over the years, including Never Been Kissed, He’s Just Not That Into You, The Vow, and How to Be Single. For this project, they revised the original script, which was written by Brett Haley and Marc Basch. You Deserve Each Other is being produced by Fifth Season along with Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron of Likely Story.

Meanwhile, with no official announcement made so far, fans of romantic comedies can look forward to this fun and clever love story with a twist.
