Priyanka Chopra starrer American spy series Citadel season 2 has faced a major setback recently. A report by The Hollywood Reporter suggests that the second action-packed season of Citadel has been postponed to spring 2026, which was earlier scheduled for 2025. The report claimed that Amazon MGM is ‘unhappy with what they have seen so far of season two’. The official confirmation has not been made yet. The report further suggests that the development of all spinoff series of the franchise is currently on hold. Well, Citadel fans might be quite upset as they have to wait a little longer. 

Notably, the production of Citadel season 2 was completed in November 2024. Priyanka and Richard were spotted shooting the show around the UK. Priyanka also posted a ‘get ready with me’ from the sets of Citadel on Instagram, last year. She wrote, “What do they say? GRWM .. Monday edition. #Citadel.” 

The first season featured Priyanka Chopra, Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci, Leo Woodall, Ashleigh Cummings, Paul Bazely, Caoilinn Springall and Roland Moller in pivotal roles. The story focuses on a global spy agency, Citadel, which has fallen and its agents’ memories were wiped clean. Meanwhile, the powerful syndicate Manticore is rising in the void. The agency has to fight back to avoid the chaos. Citadel’s creators showed Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh and David Weil. The first season consisted of six episodes. Citadel was released on Amazon Prime Video on April 28, 2023. The spin off of the series released in Italian version Citadel: Diana was released on October 10, 2024. The show was led by popular actress Matilda De Angelis. 

The show got so popular that the Indian version was released last year with the name Citadel Honey Bunny. The series starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Varun Dhawan, Emma Canning, Emma Canning, Kay Kay Menon, Soham Majumdar and Shivankit Singh Parihar in pivotal roles. It was released on November 6, 2024 on Prime Video.
