Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco’s wedding is currently one of the most talked-about topics worldwide. The American singer recently took the internet by storm by sharing photos from her intimate bachelorette party with her close friends in Mexico. From their relationship journey and proposal to the details of their upcoming wedding, the couple is leaving no stone unturned in keeping fans on their toes. Recently, the singer-actress talked about her big day and jokingly revealed who would be the ring bearer at their nuptials.
Selena Gomez And Benny Blanco's Wedding Plans
Gomex appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside her Only Murders in the Building co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin to promote the series. During the interview, she spilled the beans about her wedding.
"It’s wonderful, I’m very lucky. It’s going well, I’m so excited," she said while blushing. When asked if Short and Martin were invited to the wedding, Gomez laughed and replied, "Course they are; Marty’s the ring bearer."
Her response left not only the audience in splits but also Short himself. The comedian and actor then hilariously acted out how he would present the ring on her day, getting on one knee and raising one hand in the air. Presenting it in a dramatically channelling Lord of the Rings character, Gollum, saying, "Here’s your ring, Selena. Take it."
He continued jokingly, "We are all so excited because we love this lady and we love her fiancé, Bad Bunny. Gomez quickly corrected Short, yelling, "Benny Blanco."

The news of Martin Short being the ring bearer at Gomez's big day comes after he expressed his excitement about the upcoming nuptials. During his appearance on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, he said, "I just adore her. I'm so happy that she's getting married to this fabulous guy, Benny Blanco, who's just one of the great, cool guys and funny and loose, and she adores him," according to PEOPLE.
In addition to Short, Gomez's close friend, singer Taylor Swift has also teased her role in the wedding. After the couple announced their engagement in December 2024 on Instagram, Swift commented, "Yes I will be the flower girl."
Gomez and Blanco first began dating and made their relationship official in December 2023. After a year and a half of dating each other, the star couple announced their engagement in December 2024. The two had met years earlier and collaborated on their 2019 song ' Can’t Get Enough. Interestingly, it was Gomez's mother who played the role of Cupid and helped turn their friendship into a romantic relationship.
