Spider-Man 4 Update: The highly anticipated Spider-Man 4 movie, starring Tom Holland, has finally revealed its official title. The upcoming movie will be called Spider-Man: Brand New Day. CinemaCon shared this exciting news, and filming will begin this summer. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, marking a new chapter for Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Spider-Man 4 Title Reveal
Tom Holland didn’t attend the annual convention for movie theater owners in Las Vegas, he sent a video to tease fans about the upcoming adventure. In the video, he said, "I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie. I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say."
Spider-Man: No Way Home, the third part in the franchise, ended with Peter Parker accidentally breaking open the multiverse and making a difficult decision to erase his identity from the world. The plot details of the fourth installment remain tightly under wraps.
Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton took the stage at CinemaCon on Monday to discuss the upcoming movie. He said, “I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world. We’re all just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before,” as quoted by Variety.

Spider-Man 4 Title Reference
If you’re a die-hard Spider-Man comic fan, you’ll understand the reference to Brand New Day. This 2008 storyline was controversial for ending Peter Parker’s marriage to Mary Jane after a reality-altering event. Sound familiar? Much like No Way Home ended with the world, including MJ, forgetting who Spider-Man and Peter Parker were, this new chapter may draw inspiration from the comic and take Peter into a completely different reality.
About Spider-Man 4
Tom Holland last appeared as the heroic web-slinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), which grossed USD 1.9 billion at the global box office. The film was directed by Jon Watts, who also helmed Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). This new film will be written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who previously wrote No Way Home. However, Jon Watts will not direct this time. Destin Daniel Cretton will bring a fresh take to everyone's favorite comic book character. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, who portrayed Peter Parker’s best friends MJ and Ned, are expected to return for the new chapter. Sadie Sink has reportedly joined the cast as well.
