Superman Runtime: The highly anticipated Superman movie, directed by James Gunn, is nearing its premiere date of July 11, 2025. This is going to be an exciting new chapter in the DC franchise. As the first film of the DC Universe titled Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, the David Corenswet-starrer is more than just a retelling of Man of Steel’s original story. The movie will explore how Clark Kent navigates his dual identity, embracing his Kryptonian heritage while cherishing his ties to his adoptive family in Smallville. Amid the buzz about Superman's new costume, there are also speculations about the film's runtime and possible studio interference in trimming it down. However, James Gunn has cleared up all the doubts surrounding Superman’s runtime.
James Gunn confirmed that the film's runtime, including credits and post-credit scenes, will be 2 hours and 9 minutes. He responded to a user on Threads, who asked if the 2-hour, 9-minute duration was accurate. To this Gunn clarified by stating, "Inclusive of credits/post credits, the runtime is 2 hours 9 minutes."
He further clarified the rumours about Warner Bros. having forced him to make the film's runtime shorter.
Gunn denied and claimed that, "Zero truth to that." Further clarifying this point, he said, "And they couldn’t even if that’s something that they wanted to. It’s a DC Studios film.”

Gunn initially titled his Superman film Superman: Legacy, but later in February decided to simplify it to Superman.
