The following summer, Monica Bellucci spoke candidly about her bond with Tim Burton. In an interview with Elle France in June 2023, she reflected, “What I can say … I am glad I met the man, first of all.”
She described their connection as rare and meaningful, saying, “It is one of those encounters that rarely happens in life … I know the man, I love him and now I am going to meet the director—another adventure begins.” This “adventure” soon took a professional turn, with Burton casting Bellucci as Delores in Beetlejuice, the sequel to his 1988 cult classic.
