Florida News: In a shocking daylight incident caught on surveillance video, a Florida woman bravely fought off an alleged kidnapper outside a St. Augustine strip mall. The attempted abduction took place on the afternoon of June 29 and was made public Tuesday by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJSO), which released the chilling footage.

According to officials, the suspect—31-year-old Theodore Michael Tundidor—allegedly robbed a store inside the strip mall before dragging a female employee toward his pickup truck parked outside. The incident unfolded around 3:30 PM and was captured by a security camera in the parking lot.

The footage shows the woman resisting fiercely, crying out for help multiple times. Her screams drew the attention of a bystander, who quickly intervened and alerted police. Authorities say the suspect fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Deputies later tracked Tundidor’s vehicle, and officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) spotted him driving recklessly near Marineland on A1A. After initially evading authorities, Tundidor was eventually arrested.

He is now facing multiple felony charges, including robbery, grand theft auto, kidnapping, DUI, and resisting arrest. Officials praised the woman’s courageous response, saying her quick thinking and refusal to give up likely saved her from further harm.

According to the sheriff's office, the "victim battled her attacker and drew the attention of a nearby citizen, who came to help her and called SJSO as the suspect aborted his kidnapping attempt and fled," per Fox news.
