As former US President Donald Trump continues his criticism of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, accusing him of interfering in the November elections, Trump has recently escalated his claims, alleging that Zuckerberg plotted against him during the 2020 elections.
In his upcoming book "Save America", set to be released on September 3, former President Donald Trump includes a photograph of himself meeting with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the White House. Trump commented under the photo, "would come to the Oval Office to see me. He would bring his very nice wife to dinners, be as nice as anyone could be, while always plotting to install shameful Lock Boxes in a true PLOT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT.”
Trump describes Zuckerberg as outwardly friendly but accuses him of secretly working against him by contributing USD 420 million (Rs 42 crore) during the 2020 election to support election infrastructure, which Trump refers to as a "PLOT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT" and "shameful Lock Boxes".
“We are watching him closely, and if he does anything illegal this time he will spend the rest of his life in prison — as will others who cheat in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Trump wrote in the book, per a preview obtained by Politico.
Zuckerberg Claims Biden Administration Pressured Facebook To Censor Covid Content
Mark Zuckerberg appears to be shifting his stance in favour of the Republicans. Earlier this week, Zuckerberg sent a letter to the influential House Judiciary Committee, alleging that the Biden administration had "pressured" Meta to "censor" content during the pandemic. Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta (the parent company of Facebook and Instagram), expressed that he felt the pressure was "wrong" and admitted that he now regrets that his company was not more vocal in resisting it.
“In 2021, senior officials from the Biden Administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humour and satire and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree,” Zuckerberg said.
