DC fans received a long-awaited treat on April 2 when the creators of the upcoming film ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, featuring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, shared several exciting updates. Warner Bros Pictures excitedly unveiled the movie's inaugural poster on their official social media platforms, formerly known as Twitter, along with the highly anticipated announcement of the trailer's release date. Following these official declarations, the Motion Picture Association disclosed the film's ratings on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Joker: Folie A Deux Rated 'R'

The sequel to 2019 hit movie Joker has received an R rating by the Motion Pictures Association. The Motion Picture Association (MPA) revealed that the R rating for ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is attributed to elements such as "strong violence, language throughout, sexuality, and brief full nudity," as mentioned in their daily rating bulletin.

This serves as a reminder of the rating given to the initial installment of the movie, which was also rated R due to factors like "strong bloody violence, disturbing behavior, language, and brief sexual images."

‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is an upcoming American musical psychological thriller movie, serving as a direct follow-up to the 2019 hit film ‘Joker’. Joaquin Phoenix returns to portray the iconic DC Comics character, the Joker, while Lady Gaga steps into the role of Harley Quinn.
