In an unfortunate turn of events, Kevin Owens is all set to miss the upcoming WWE WrestleMania 41 and will not be joining his match against Randy Orton due to his serious neck injury.
Owens has been dealing with neck issue for the last four months and he will now need a surgery which has led to the cancellation of his all-important match at the historic pay-per-view.
While WrestleMania 41 is all set to take place on April 19 and 20 in Las Vegas, Owens was all set to face Orton as the fixture was produced through a heated rivalry between the two superstars. Things went intense after Owens attacked Orton with a banned piledriver on the November 8, 2024, episode of SmackDown, sidelining The Viper for three months.
However, there were doubts that took rise over Owens' fight against Randy in the past few weeks. He was last seen in action in the Elimination Chambers PLE on March 1, 2025, in an Unsanctioned Match against his former best friends Sami Zayn.
During the Elimination Chamber face-off, Owens got the better of Sami Zayn, brutally thrashing him inside the ring. Meanwhile, Randy Orton surprised everyone with a shocking return to the WWE and saved Zayn while attacking Owens. He unleashed a massive attack on Owens and was eventually stopped by the WWE officials.
As their feud intensified, WWE announced that they would settle their differences at WrestleMania 41 in a high-stakes match. Their rivalry had grown so heated that it became one of the most anticipated bouts on the card.
This rivalry has had both emotional and physical aspects, with Owens attacking Orton both in and out of the ring, making their feud one of the most personal in recent WWE storylines. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how this rivalry will unfold, especially with the uncertain future surrounding Owens’ injury.
Owens talked about his comeback from the injury, saying that he doesn't know the timeline of when he will return to the ring and that he's speaking with a surgeon on Monday. He added that he knows others who have gone through similar neck injuries and were out six months to a year.
He also expressed disappointment at not being able to compete against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. Owens went on to mention that he really wanted to break the news to the fans first about his injury before it hit the internet.
