Krypto grabs all attention in Superman First Look
Krypto, Superman's loyal canine companion, bursts onto the scene at incredible superspeed, exuding an infectious playfulness. Despite Superman's injuries, Krypto enthusiastically jumps on and around him, unintentionally exacerbating his wounds. However, the dog's antics are soon replaced by a display of loyalty and concern as he gently drags Superman by his cape, carefully guiding him to the safety of the Fortress of Solitude.
Once inside, advanced robots spring into action, utilizing innovative technology to facilitate Superman's healing by positioning him to harness the rejuvenating power of the sun. This glimpse into the film showcases the special bond between Superman and Krypto, as well as the cutting-edge world of the DC Universe.
Who is Kryto?
Krypto is Superman's loyal pet dog, a white dog of unknown breed, who has appeared in various comic books, TV series and films, including an animated series, Smallville, and the upcoming live-action film Superman (2025).
Krypto, Superman's loyal dog, first appeared in Adventure Comics #210 (1955), created by Otto Binder and Curt Swan. The character was well-received and became a regular member of Superboy's cast.
Krypto: The Dog From Krypton
In the 2000s Superman comics, a new version of Krypto is introduced as a dog from a false Krypton created by Brainiac 13. This Krypto has super strength but normal canine instincts, causing trouble for Superman until he's trained and cared for by a robot in the Fortress of Solitude.
Krypto helps during disasters caused by Imperiex and assists in various superhero missions, including rescuing people and subduing villains. He's also shown to have a complex relationship with other characters, such as Catwoman, whom he seems to like, and Kara Zor-El, whom he violently attacks, prompting Batman to question her identity.
What are the superpowers of Krypto?
As a Kryptonian canine, Krypto possesses abilities mirroring Superman's, such as flight, super-strength, super-speed, and super-breath. These remarkable powers make him the perfect companion for the Man of Steel and his allies in the superhero community.
