A strange metallic sphere discovered in Buga, Colombia, has sparked a wave of online speculation about extraterrestrial activity. The object, which reportedly crashed in March 2025, was captured on video floating erratically through the sky before landing, further fueling theories of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). While UFO enthusiasts have hailed it as possible alien technology, experts remain divided.

Weighing approximately 4.5 pounds, the sphere is etched with unusual markings and has been described as having no visible welds or seams, features typically associated with human-made objects. Radiologist Dr. Jose Luis Velazquez, who examined the orb, stated in a video shared on X that it appeared to be “of artificial origin,” containing high-density materials and exhibiting a complex internal structure. “More testing is needed to establish its origin,” he added.

The sphere, composed of three layers and showing no signs of welding or joints, has intrigued researchers and UFO communities alike.

Experts Urge Caution Against Jumping To Alien Theories

Physicist Julia Mossbridge, founder of The Institute for Love and Time (TILT) and faculty at the University of San Diego, urged the public to exercise caution. In an interview with Fox News, Mossbridge described the artifact as potentially “a really cool art project,” warning against hasty conclusions. “We are entering a time when we don’t have the control that we thought we had,” she said. “Sometimes our models of the world don’t account for what we find.”

Government Acknowledges Unexplained Phenomena

Mossbridge emphasised that the US government has acknowledged the existence of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) and continues to investigate them. She suggested the Colombian sphere could be another puzzling object in a long history of unexplained aerial encounters, but it should be examined thoroughly before jumping to conclusions.

Adding to the mystery, X-ray scans reportedly revealed 18 small dots arranged inside the orb, suggesting it was deliberately designed to house internal components. “It appears to be an object intentionally built to house these small metallic components,” said Nacho Rojo, host of the Hidden Truth YouTube channel.
