Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946, at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York City, as the fourth child of Fred and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump. His father worked as a real estate developer, while his mother was a homewife.

Donald Trump: Education Qualification

Trump attended the private Kew-Forest School until seventh grade, then completed his schooling at the New York Military Academy, a private boarding school, from eighth through twelfth grade. In 1964, he enrolled at Fordham University, later transferring to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in May 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in economics.

In 1966, a medical examination deemed him fit for military service, and in July 1968, he was classified as eligible by a local draft board. However, in October 1968, he received a 1-Y classification, a conditional medical deferment due to bone spurs, and in 1972, he was reclassified as 4-F, permanently disqualifying him from military service.

Donald Trump started his business career in 1968 at his father's real estate company, Trump Management. In 1973, he renamed the company the Trump Organisation and expanded its operations into Manhattan. Donald Trump served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021, becoming the only president in American history with no prior political or military experience before his presidency.

Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election through the Electoral College, despite losing the popular vote to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by 2.8 million votes—the largest popular vote deficit for any winning U.S. president. He was elected as the 45th president on November 8, 2016, and inaugurated on January 20, 2017. In the 2020 election, Trump ran for re-election but lost to Democratic nominee Joe Biden by a margin of 7 million votes.

Trump has officially run as a candidate for president four times—in 2000, 2016, 2020, and 2024. Over the years, his political party affiliation has shifted multiple times: he registered as a Republican in 1987, switched to the Reform Party in 1999, joined the Democratic Party in 2001, and returned to the Republican Party in 2009.

In the 2020 election, Trump lost his re-election bid to Democratic nominee and former vice president Joe Biden. Trump secured 232 electoral votes compared to Biden’s 306 and received 74,216,154 popular votes to Biden’s 81,268,924.

In 1977, Donald Trump married Czech model Ivana Zelníčková, and they had three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. The couple divorced in 1990 following Trump’s affair with actress Marla Maples. Trump married Maples in 1993, and they divorced in 1999. They have one daughter, Tiffany, who was raised by Maples in California. In 2005, Trump married Slovenian model Melania Knauss, with whom he has one son, Barron.
