A recent video showing US President Donald Trump seemingly struggling to step out of a golf cart and appearing to drag his right leg has gone viral, fueling widespread speculation about his health. The footage, reportedly shared by a groundskeeping company servicing Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, has led social media users to question whether he may be suffering from a neuromuscular or orthopedic condition.

As the clip circulated on social media, various medical professionals and observers weighed in on Trump’s apparent physical struggle. Among them, Arun Gray, a UK-based sports scientist, suggested in a conversation with Daily Mail that Trump may have a condition known as knock knee (bilateral knee valgus). This condition, common among taller individuals and those with weak glute muscles, can contribute to knee strain, hip discomfort, and even arthritis.

Gray explained that knock knee is “relatively common” and “generally harmless”, but it can lead to increased stress on the inner knees, hip discomfort, and a heightened risk of arthritis and lower back problems. He noted that Trump exhibited a “subtle side-to-side ‘waddle’ in his gait,” which is often indicative of glute dysfunction.

Lifestyle Factors And Potential Impacts

Gray further elaborated that Trump’s lifestyle could be a contributing factor to his movement patterns. “Given his lifestyle—including extensive travel, prolonged sitting in meetings, and reliance on a golf buggy rather than walking the course—it’s likely that muscle weakness and inactivity contribute to his movement patterns,” he stated.

While knock knee is not inherently a serious condition, other medical professionals have pointed to the possibility of more concerning underlying health issues. As of now, Trump has not publicly addressed the health concerns raised by the video.
