In a surprising announcement that has sent shockwaves through the paranormal community, American comedian Matt Rife and his close friend, YouTuber and ghost enthusiast Elton Castee, have officially purchased the legendary home and Occult Museum of famed paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in Monroe, Connecticut. The iconic property, best known for housing the infamous Annabelle doll, will now be under their care for the next five years.
Rife confirmed the acquisition through a post on Instagram, calling it an “INSANE ANNOUNCEMENT,” and expressing his excitement about becoming the legal guardian of the haunted collection. “If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted,” Rife wrote. “The Conjuring films are my favourite scary movies of all time, so I’m incredibly honoured to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history.”

Ed And Lorraine Warren: Pioneers Of Paranormal
The Warrens were pioneers in paranormal investigation and gained widespread recognition through their involvement in high-profile cases such as the Amityville Horror, the Enfield Poltergeist, and the Perron family haunting, immortalised in The Conjuring films. Their museum, attached to their farmhouse, holds an extensive collection of allegedly haunted objects, but none more notorious than the Annabelle doll.
Unlike the porcelain version seen in films, the real Annabelle is a three-foot-tall Raggedy Ann doll kept in a locked glass case with a stern warning: “Positively Do Not Open.” Ed and Lorraine repeatedly cautioned against tampering with the doll, claiming it was a conduit for evil and should never be moved or handled outside its protective enclosure.
In 2025, despite the Warrens’ warnings, the doll was controversially taken on a nationwide tour called “Devil’s on the Run,” organised by Dan Rivera. Rivera, who served as Annabelle’s handler during the tour, tragically passed away in his hotel room shortly after a stop, fueling fears about the doll's malevolent power. Rife and Castee now plan to reopen the Warren home and museum to the public, offering overnight stays and guided tours. "You yourself can experience and learn all the haunted history surrounding this amazing place," Rife said in a TikTok video.
