As the night skies over New Jersey have been illuminated by dozens of mysterious drones, concerns have arisen, particularly with sightings near United States President-elect Donald Trump's golf course in Bedminster. The unusual activity has sparked widespread speculation, prompting a response from the White House. On December 12, John Kirby, the White House’s national security communications adviser, addressed the issue, stating that while the drone sightings are being monitored, the US government has no evidence to suggest they pose a national security or public safety threat.

Kirby stated in a press conference that there is no evidence to suggest the reported drone sightings pose a national security or public safety threat, nor do they appear to have any foreign connection.

John Kirby, speaking at a press briefing, acknowledged that while there is no evidence of malicious intent or a national security threat from the reported drone sightings in New Jersey, they highlight an oversight gap.

“The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are investigating these sightings, and they're working closely with state and local law enforcement to provide resources using numerous detection methods to better understand their origin, using very sophisticated electronic detection technologies provided by federal authorities we have not been able to, and neither have state or local law enforcement authorities, corroborate any of the reported visual sightings,” said Kirby.

He urged Congress to pass legislation to expand drone authorities, enabling better detection and response to potential threats. The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are investigating the sightings, but no corroboration of the visual reports has been found so far. Despite the lack of confirmed malicious activity, Kirby emphasised the need for improved counter-drone measures to protect critical infrastructure.

Mysterious Drone Swarm Near Trump’s Golf Club

Kirby’s statement comes after a swarm of mysterious drone sightings near President-elect Donald Trump's Bedminster golf club in New Jersey, which has left local residents baffled. In addition to the unusual aerial activity, some residents have reported strange occurrences, such as inexplicable changes to their clocks, further adding to the mystery surrounding the sightings.

Similar drone incidents have been reported near military installations, including a 17-day drone activity near Langley Air Force Base in Virginia and sightings near a California base this year. The US Navy also reported drones near four military bases in Britain, although Pentagon officials stated that these incidents did not significantly impact missions.
