US President Donald Trump ignited a fresh controversy on Friday after he called a female journalist “quiet, piggy” during a tense exchange aboard Air Force One. The president was travelling from Washington to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida when Bloomberg correspondent Catherine Lucey pressed him on why he was refusing to release the remaining files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Lucey asked: “If there’s nothing incriminating in the files, sir, why not act?” According to multiple reporters present, Trump abruptly turned toward her, pointed a finger inches from her face, and replied: “Quiet, quiet, piggy.” Clips of the moment quickly circulated across social media.

'Remarks Highlight Trump’s Disregard For Press'

Left-leaning political organisation Occupy Democrats criticised the president’s behaviour, writing: “This is the president of the United States. This is how he talks to the press and other adults that he is supposed to lead. America can do so much better!”

The exchange comes just days after Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released previously unseen email correspondence from Epstein, allegedly obtained from his estate. The newly disclosed emails have revived scrutiny of Trump’s past ties to the disgraced financier.

Epstein Emails Renew Questions About Trump Connection

In one email between Epstein and his confidante Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein referred to Trump as “that dog that hasn’t barked,” adding that a victim had spent hours with him yet “he has never once been mentioned.” Maxwell responded: “I have been thinking about that…”

In another message to Trump biographer Michael Wolff, Epstein wrote: “Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever.” He added: “Of course, he knew about the girls… as he asked Ghislaine to stop,” referencing longstanding rumours, denied by Trump, that Epstein and Maxwell once scouted potential victims at Mar-a-Lago.

Speaking to reporters earlier this week, Trump rejected the claim outright. “I know nothing about that. They would have announced that a long time ago,” he said, reiterating that he and Epstein had “a very bad relationship for many years.”

Following the release of the new emails, reporters again questioned Trump aboard Air Force One about whether any incriminating information might appear in the remaining files. When Lucey repeated her question, Trump pointed at her and delivered the now-viral insult.
