US Presidential Election 2024: With just a day left in the high-stakes US Presidential Election 2024, Republican candidate Donald Trump addressed a rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday and said that he “shouldn’t have left” the White House after his 2020 loss to Joe Biden. "We had the safest border in the history of our country the day that I left. I shouldn't have left. I mean, honestly, because we did so, we did so well,” Trump said during the rally.

Trump escalated his rhetoric against the Democratic Party and the media, labelling them as "demonic." He also reiterated his claims about election fraud and said he could only lose to Kamala Harris through cheating, despite polls indicating a competitive race.

“They’ll want to put you in jail because you want to make it straight. Think of it, think of it. They cheat in elections and you call them on it and they want to put you in jail,” Trump was quoted as saying by news agency AP.

In the run-up to the 2024 election, Trump faces significant legal challenges after he was indicted for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election in both Washington and Georgia. Following Trump’s setback in the 2020 US Presidential polls, his supporters stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Multiple reports indicate that Trump might declare victory prematurely on election day, similar to his actions in 2020. In a recent interview with ABC News, the Republican candidate stated that he anticipates the election winner will be announced on election day, even though official results usually take weeks to finalize.
