Formula 1: After winning the Japan Grand Prix early in the year, Red Bull ace and four-time world champion Max Verstappen has been going through a slog season this year, as he was consistently outpaced by McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.

Now, the defending world champion Verstappen was spotted driving a Ferrari — while he races for Red Bull. What was more fascinating in the news was that he used a fake name, “Franz Hermann,” during the test.

The Red Bull driver was spotted at the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife, also known as the “Green Hell,” regarded as a very difficult race track.

Verstappen tested a Ferrari 296 GT3 car and his fake name was even printed on the side of the car, as per Albat.com.

This shocking and mysterious event has caught the attention of racing fans as it is very uncommon for fans to witness a Red Bull driver behind the Ferrari wheels, especially Red Bull uses engines from Honda and Ford.

When Max Verstappen spoke about racing beyond F1

The four-time world champion recently spoke about the possibility of participating in endurance racing after calling time on his glorious F1 career.

"F1 is a lot of fun, and I'm having a lot of success at the moment, but I want to do other things as well. I know my contract runs until 2028. I will be 31 at that time. I'm probably still going to be competitive for a few more years after that," speaking ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Verstappen said, as quoted by Motorsports.com.

“But in those years I also want to experience other things and just have a bit more fun with less pressure and less of a schedule,” he added.
