Microsoft, a Redmond-headquartered tech giant, has shut down one of the popular features of its Edge internet browser - 'Web Select'. This handy tool was popular among users due to its ease of usability and wide range of options while taking screenshots. The tech giant announced the move in the latest release note of the Stable Channel of the browser. Besides these, the company also shaved the 'More tools' menu to deprecate more features.

According to the firm, this is a move to improve the user experience, and Web Select will not be available now in the Web Capture or the keyboard layout. Besides this, the company has also deprecated features such as Math Solver, Citations, Kids Mode and more.

According to the tech giant, Web Select allows users to copy content easily compared to manual highlighting via the cursor. The sides of the selection box are adjustable to ensure users get the desired output.
