Travis Scott Controversies: American rapper, singer and songwriter, Travis Scott, is all set to perform in India for the first time in history. Scott has undoubtedly made a name for himself in the music industry, boasting a string of chart-topping hits and a highly publicised relationship with reality TV star and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner. However, his rise to fame has not been without controversy. Travis Scott's history of inciting violence and destruction at his concerts has led to numerous lawsuits, arrests and tragic incidents, including the devastating Astroworld music festival disaster, which resulted in fatalities and left many more injured. Here are top controversies surrounding the rapper:

Fatal Astroworld Tragedy

Travis Scott's biggest scandal to date is the devastating 2021 Astroworld music festival, which he founded in 2018 in his hometown of Houston, Texas. The festival turned tragic when a crowd surge occurred during his performance, resulting in hundreds of injuries and 10 fatalities, with victims ranging from 14 to 27 years old. A criminal investigation was launched, and Travis, along with festival organizers, faced intense criticism for inadequate security measures and the rapper's history of inciting violence at his concerts.

Later, in a statement on X, Scott wrote, “My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival. Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life.”

Alleged Cheating On Kylie Jenner

Travis Scott's relationship with Kylie Jenner has been marred by rumours of infidelity, with numerous allegations of cheating surfacing over the years. One of the most recent and striking accusations came in October 2022, mere months after Kylie gave birth to their second child, a son. Model Rojean Kar took to Instagram to imply that Travis had been involved with her while still in a relationship with Kylie. 

In a series of provocative posts, Kar made explosive claims, stating that Travis' alleged infidelity was common knowledge. One post in particular contained a scathing message, declaring that Travis cheats on Kylie "every single f_cking night" and that "the whole f_cking city sees it." These bombshell allegations only added fuel to the long-standing rumors surrounding Travis' fidelity, leaving many to question the state of his relationship with Kylie.

Travis Scott’s Arrest At Lollapalooza

Travis Scott's history of stirring up trouble at music festivals dates back to 2015, when he made headlines for encouraging attendees to jump the barricades during his performance. According to Billboard, Travis's incitement led to a chaotic scene, and he promptly "fled the scene" shortly after the concert. However, his attempt to escape the consequences of his actions was short-lived, as he was arrested soon after. The incident resulted in Travis being charged with disorderly conduct, a charge that would foreshadow future controversies surrounding his live performances, including the tragic events that unfolded at the 2021 Astrodome festival.

Travis Scott Started A Riot At His Concert

In May 2017, Travis Scott's concert in Rogers, Arkansas descended into chaos, with a riot breaking out during his performance. The crowd got out of hand, leaving multiple attendees injured. Travis was subsequently charged with three misdemeanors, including inciting a riot, disorderly conduct, and endangering the welfare of a minor, after allegedly encouraging fans to rush the stage and overpower security.
