Ghaziabad Murder: A shocking murder surfaced in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, in which a man was killed by his three friends over a dispute linked to superstition. NDTV reported that all three accused and the victim were friends and things went wrong when they visited an occultist.

According to police, three friends - Pawan, Sagar and Naseem - killed the 35-year-old auto rickshaw driver Naveen aka Nandu, fearing he would kill one of them due to superstition.

What Led To Murder

The police probe found that Nandu used to visit the occultist in Delhi. The occultist allegedly told the victim that if he wanted to be rich, he should kill someone close to him. On Tuesday, he took his three auto rickshaw-driver friends to the occultist, where the trio overheard the occultist telling Nandu that he needs to make a human sacrifice to attract fortune. Nandu allegedly asked the occultist if killing a friend would work, then he said 'yes'.

After hearing this, the trio planned to kill Nandu. They murdered Nandu with a gas cylinder on the same day in the evening. After killing him, the trio set his body ablaze in an attempt to destroy evidence.

According to media reports, the four friends drank at Sagar's house, where they killed him after a fight broke out among them over the 'sacrifice' issue. A gas cylinder was used to kill him. They killed Nandu with the cylinder hitting his head.

Attempt To Hide Murder

After killing Nandu, his friends wrapped the body in a blanket, placed it in his auto rickshaw. The trio took his rickshaw to a deserted part of Ghaziabad and set the rickshaw with body on fire. The Tronica police station filed a murder case after finding the burnt body.

NDTV reported, quoting Assistant Commissioner of Police Siddhartha Gautam, that multiple teams were formed to solve the case.

Based on technical surveillance and human intelligence inputs, police successfully established that the victim drank with the three friends on the night of the murder. Police said the two accused - Sagar and Pawan - have been arrested, and a manhunt was on to nab Naseem.
