The rising water level of the Yamuna River has affected over 30,000 people across urban and rural areas of Bah tehsil, Agra. On Saturday, water inundated the temples and town of Bateshwar Dham, including the sanctum sanctorum of Kailash village and Kailash Mahadev temple, submerging one-and-a-half dozen localities such as Ghat Bajaria, Tanoura, Noorpur, Naharganj, Moti Mahal, Barauli Gujar, and Krishna Colony Jeevani Mandi Road.

Due to backflow from drains, streets in two dozen settlements, including Nagla Bihari, Baba Wali Gali, and Shri Sant Gali, were submerged. Seven villages in the Bah tehsil have lost contact, and the electricity supply has been cut off. Relief materials are being delivered via steamer to villages surrounded by water. By 10 PM, the Yamuna water level reached 499 feet, with officials warning that it may cross 500 feet on Sunday, further worsening conditions for thousands.

After 15 years, the Vishram Ghat at Tajganj Mokshadham was submerged, along with Poiya and Foundry Nagar crematoriums. Traffic has been severely disrupted on Tanoura-Noorpur and Naharganj roads, and local roads, including Nagla Bihari railway underpass, were flooded due to drain backflow.

Residents in affected villages have been evacuated to safer locations. In Kailash village, six houses, including that of KS Kumar, were filled with water. Residents refused to vacate, keeping belongings on upper floors. Nearby, about 30 houses in Krishna Colony, Jeevani Mandi Road, are also using the first floors for safety. Two huts each in Manoharpur and Amar Vihar were submerged, while Tanoura and Noorpur villages are surrounded by water, blocking all road access.

The historic temple chain of Bateshwar Dham has been completely submerged. Devotees are risking their lives to reach the temple. Seven villages in the Bah tehsil remain cut off from the headquarters. The administration has urged people not to perform last rites at Poiya Ghat due to flooding.
