Agra Metro Construction Work: In Agra, preparations are underway to close half of the lanes on MG Road and National Highway-19 for metro construction. The closure will span from Sikandra Tiraha to the Sultanganj culvert. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is set to place spans and girders on the pillars, with work taking place nightly from 11 pm to 4:30 am.

As the project progresses, barriers will be removed, and traffic diversions will be in place at various points. Traffic Marshals, alongside the local police, will assist with managing the flow. The metro work is ongoing across four key roads in the city: MG Road, National Highway, Mall Road, and Sultanpura Road.

Elevated metro tracks are being built along these roads, with the construction of pillars being carried out using 10 rig machines. Spans and girders are being pre-cast in the yard for installation. Seven elevated stations are planned for MG Road, while 10 stations will be built along the National Highway. Work is progressing at all locations.

UPMRC has already erected over two dozen pillars, and installation of the spans and girders will begin shortly. An official from UPMRC confirmed that work will occur at night, with half of the lanes on each side closed. Should the need arise, entire lanes will be blocked, and traffic will be rerouted.

According to a Jagran.com report, six large machines will be deployed, and fifty marshals will be stationed at key points. The work is expected to last for five to seven days, with the ISBT Metro station receiving the most focus.
