The Uttar Pradesh government has approved Rs 1.0064 crore from the Purvanchal Development Fund (State’s share) for a road construction project in Amethi district for the financial year 2025-26.

The funds will be used to build a CC road from Ahorwa-Bhavna-Haidergarh Road to the Bhikhra border via Malapur. Meanwhile, residents of Pantnagar colony in Khurramnagar, Lucknow, are facing severe hardships due to the dilapidated condition of their roads.

Large potholes and dislodged gravel have caused multiple accidents, with motorcyclists and vehicle passengers sustaining injuries. Sewer covers protruding from damaged roads have added to the dangers.

Despite repeated complaints to the local councillor, no remedial action has been taken. Residents have now submitted a written request to OP Srivastava, MLA of the East Assembly constituency, who has assured that the road will be reconstructed soon.
