These trains, equipped with modern facilities including both sleeper and general class coaches, aim to ease travel to northern destinations from the Uttar Pradesh capital.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off two Amrit Bharat Express trains — Bapudham Motihari–Darbhanga–Gomtinagar and Malda Town–Gomtinagar. Both services will commence regular operations from July 24.

To assess the feasibility of the new routes, Railways will prepare a joint report, taking into account the waiting list data of existing trains and operational inputs from Moradabad, Ambala, Firozpur, and Jammu divisions. Based on this report, a formal proposal will be sent to the zonal headquarters for rake allocation. Once approved, the rakes will be requested from the Rail Coach Factory and are expected to be delivered by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the plan to upgrade the 16093/16094 Lucknow Junction–Chennai Central Express with LHB (Linke-Hofmann-Busch) coaches has been postponed. The train will continue to operate with its existing conventional coaches manufactured by the Integrated Coach Factory.

Earlier, the railway had scheduled the introduction of LHB coaches for this train from July 28, but the decision has now been deferred until further notice.
