As part of the ongoing efforts to upgrade Ayodhya's civic amenities to the level of other major cities, residents are set to receive Piped Natural Gas (PNG) by the end of this month. This will provide households with a direct and continuous supply of cooking gas, reducing their reliance on traditional LPG cylinders.
The first phase of the rollout will begin in the Saketpuri colony.
Implementation And Details
The project is being executed by Green Gas Limited, which already operates the CNG network in Ayodhya. According to a company spokesperson, pipeline testing has been successfully completed in two areas: Saketpuri and Kaushalpuri. Connections are currently being provided to approximately 2,000 homes in these colonies. After the initial launch in Saketpuri, the service will be extended to Kaushalpuri.
The spokesperson stated that the introduction of PNG will offer residents a cheaper and safer alternative to LPG cylinders. A key advantage is the uninterrupted 24-hour supply, which eliminates the inconvenience of cylinders running out or needing replacement. The current price for PNG is set at Rs 58.50 per Standard Cubic Metre (SCM).
