In a significant boost to the city's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) has launched three new public fast-charging stations in Greater Noida. The launch is strategically timed ahead of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS), which begins on September 25 at the India Expo Mart.
The initiative was undertaken at the direction of the Greater Noida Authority, which has provided the land to NPCL for the stations for a 10-year period. The new facilities are located near the India Expo Mart, Sharda University, and Samrat Mihir Bhoj City Park to ensure that visitors arriving in EVs for the trade show face no inconvenience.
Capacity And Features
Together, the three stations have a total capacity of 540 kilowatts and can charge up to 12 vehicles simultaneously. Each station is equipped with six charging points, featuring 120-kilowatt and 60-kilowatt fast chargers.
According to company spokesperson Manoj Jha, a four-wheeler EV battery can be charged from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes. The service is available for both private and commercial drivers, who will be charged Rs 17 per unit, plus GST.
The modern charging stations are equipped with safety features like overcharge, short circuit, and surge protection. They also offer real-time monitoring, RFID authentication, and digital payment options for user convenience.
