In Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, a local BJP leader was arrested after a video surfaced showing him threatening two men during a parking dispute and forcing one of them to kneel and rub his nose on the road.
The incident occurred on the night of October 19 in the Tejgarhi area under the Medical Police Station limits. The video, which went viral on social media, shows BJP Kisan Morcha District Vice President Vikul Chaprana and his associates breaking a car's windows, abusing two young men, and humiliating one of them in public.
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began over a parking issue beneath the office of UP’s Minister of State for Energy, Somendra Tomar.
Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh told PTI that police took cognizance of the video and registered a case against Chaprana, who was subsequently arrested. The complaint was filed by Aditya Rastogi, brother of the victim, Satyam Rastogi. Others involved are being identified.
The incident drew sharp criticism from opposition parties. Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav wrote in Hindi: “BJP people, intoxicated with the arrogance of power, never hesitate to insult others. BJP members should remember that every arrogance meets its end one day.”
भाजपाई सत्ता के अहंकार में चूर होकर किसी को भी अपमानित करने से नहीं चूकते हैं।

Congress also reacted strongly saying, “Vikul Chaprana staged this entire drama in front of the UP police and name-dropped prominent figures to flaunt his power. This is the true face of the BJP, where leaders consider themselves kings and treat common people like insects. This thug must be arrested.”
Commenting on the video, BJP’s Meerut District President Shivkumar Rana said, “We are aware of the incident. The party does not support such behavior. The matter has been reported to senior leadership.”
