Following the car blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, vigilance has been increased at the Banda railway station in Uttar Pradesh. The Government Railway Police (GRP) has heightened its alertness and is actively conducting checks on all fronts. Along with the GRP and the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the civil police are also conducting daily checking drives to screen suspects.
On Tuesday, the GRP maintained strict surveillance on all entry and exit routes within the railway station. Passengers attempting to enter through unauthorised shortcuts were subjected to strict questioning. They were also warned and instructed to enter the railway station only through the main gate.
