With preparations for the Dussehra fair underway with great enthusiasm, the Hapur district administration and police have implemented a special traffic management plan to ensure the event is well-organised and safe for all attendees.

A new diversion plan has been put into effect for today, October 2, 2025, to manage the flow of heavy and light vehicles, prevent traffic congestion, and ensure convenience for the thousands of devotees expected at the fair. The main RavanDahan (effigy burning) ceremony will take place at the Ramlila Ground.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Gyananjay Singh detailed the specific traffic arrangements:

Traffic Diversion Plan

Heavy Vehicles: All heavy vehicles approaching from the Nizampur check post will be completely prohibited from entering the city via Delhi Road. They must use the Tatarpur intersection to enter the city.

Four-Wheelers Bound For the Fair: Cars and other four-wheeled vehicles coming to the fair will only be permitted to travel up to SSV College.

Travel Beyond Ramlila Ground: Anyone needing to go past the Ramlila Ground must take a U-turn from SSV College and re-enter the city via the Sona petrol pump on Bulandshahr Road.

Traffic to Delhi And Ghaziabad: All vehicles traveling from Meerut Road and Garh Road towards Delhi or Ghaziabad must pass through either the Sona petrol pump on Bulandshahr Road or the Tatarpur intersection.

Restricted Zone: The movement of all non-essential vehicles towards the Ramlila Ground will be completely restricted.

Festive Atmosphere And Security

The city of Hapur has been grandly decorated for the Dussehra celebrations. To manage the large crowds at the Ramlila Ground, the administration has deployed additional police forces for enhanced security and crowd control.

The police have appealed to all citizens and visitors to cooperate by following the traffic rules and adhering to the diversion plan. This will help ensure that everyone can enjoy the festival safely while avoiding traffic congestion and inconvenience throughout the city.
