The Markazi Eidgah in Kanpur will hold two congregational Eid prayers on Eid ul Fitr 2024 for the first time in history. The Markazi Eidgah Committee took this decision in response to a ban on offering Namaz outside the Eidgah premises or mosques in Uttar Pradesh. This year's Eid prayers will be held in two separate congregations to accommodate the large number of devotees and prevent the past issues of overcrowding, the Eidgah Committee said.

The first congregational Eid prayer is scheduled for 8 am, followed by a second congregation at 9:30 am, ensuring that all worshippers have the opportunity to pray within the Eidgah on the day of Eid ul Fitr 2024. Mutawalli Ayaz Alam Zafar announced that Maulana Shakeel will lead the first prayer, while Hafiz Subhanilahi Mujadidi will lead the second.

Last year, legal action was taken against individuals praying on the road, leading to the current resolution to hold prayers twice. The new arrangement ensures that everyone can offer prayers inside the Eidgah, with the second congregation providing an option for those who miss the first.
