In a significant operation, Jasran police apprehended an accused in an encounter in connection with a rape case on Monday at 11 PM. The accused, shot in the leg during the police firing, has been admitted to the District Joint Hospital for treatment in Shikohabad in Firozabad, UP.
As per the information, the accused, identified as Sahroj Khan, a resident of Nizampur, is accused of raping and exploiting a minor for over six months. Khan lured a 17-year-old girl and took her with him. He then gave her a cold drink laced with intoxicants. After she fell unconscious, he took her to a maize field and raped her on Pranpur Road.
After a few days, he raped her several times, threatening to broadcast the video on the internet. According to the victim's mother, the victim attempted suicide several times after being fed up with the pestilence.
Followed by a complaint registered by the victim’s mother in May 2025, the police began a search operation for the accused, and on Monday night at 10 o'clock, information was received that the accused was hiding on Pranpur Road.
The police were checking by cordoning off the area, when a suspect ran away after seeing the police team. When the police chased him, he opened fire. He was shot in the leg by the police firing and fell. He was identified as Sahroj Khan, a resident of Nizampur. A pistol and cartridges were recovered from the accused.

In another incident, Nasirpur police arrested Arun alias Mirchi, a resident of Nandram's Madhiya, accused of shooting dead farmer Satyabhan in a land dispute on the night of December 29, from the Fatehpur Karkha bypass.
