In a moment of immense pride for the nation, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, a native of Triveninagar, Lucknow, has been selected to be part of the historic Axiom-4 space mission — India's first space tourism-based initiative.

The Ax-4 crew includes Commander Peggy Whitson of the US, Pilot Shubhanshu Shukla of India, Mission Specialist Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski of Poland, and Mission Specialist Tibor Kapu of Hungary. Currently serving in the Indian Air Force, Shukla will represent India on a global stage as part of the fourth mission by the American private space agency, Axiom Space.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated Shukla through an X post, writing, “From the land of Lord Shri Ram to space! Heartiest congratulations to Uttar Pradesh's son, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla on being selected for the historic #Axiom4 space mission! He is now going to create history – he will set out on a journey to space carrying the dreams of India.” The Chief Minister added that this achievement is a moment of pride not only for Uttar Pradesh but for every Indian.
