Ganga Expressway Update: The construction of this 594 km Ganga Expressway will be completed by November 2, 2025. So far, construction of 430 km has been completed, jagran.com reported. Various types of industries will be established along this 594 km long expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj. Many companies related to pharma, textiles, food processing, warehousing and logistics have expressed their desire to invest in the industrial areas to be built along the expressway. The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has also allotted land for setting up industries at the Unnao node.
Hari Pratap Shahi, ACEO of UPDA, said that many big companies including Poland's company Canpack, UV Beverages, UAE's company Aquabridge are investing in Unnao node.
Ganga Expressway Routes
Starting from Bijauli village on Meerut-Bulandshahr National Highway no. 334, the Ganga Expressway will end at Judhapur Daand village on National Highway no. 19 on Prayagraj bypass.
The Ganga Expressway being built in six lanes will pass through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. Therefore, the youth from these districts will also get employment opportunities. After its construction, citizens will get smooth traffic facility between the western and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. This project worth Rs 36,230 crore has been targeted to be completed by November 2, 2025.
Ganga Expressway To Boost Industrial Development
The construction of the 594 km long Ganga Expressway will accelerate the industrial development in Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. After the construction of this expressway, industrial development of the 12 districts concerned will gain momentum.
UPDA Began Construction Process On November 3, 2022
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given orders to complete its construction before Maha Kumbh, but despite all the efforts it was not possible. Under this project worth Rs 36,230 crore, 7453.13 hectares of land has been acquired
This six-lane, Ganga Expressway has been designed for a vehicle speed of 120 kmph. A 3.5 km runway for fighter jets has also been constructed at Jalalabad in Shahjahanpur.
