The GDA Board has approved the amended building bye-laws that were approved in the cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to address the parking issue. Only under the new guidelines will maps be passed in Ghaziabad going forward. Plots smaller than 300 square metres will not be developed with apartments.
The majority of people in Ghaziabad park their cars outside of their houses. The disagreement stems from the absence of parking arrangements. During a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government amended the building by-laws to address the issue.
Following the cabinet meeting, a government order was issued on November 30 of last year, which was to be implemented by the authorities following board approval. However, in Ghaziabad, a large game was being played under the guise of not implementing the new rules for passing the map. The entire game was played to benefit the builders.
The GDA Vice President gave an urgent order to obtain the required consent before enforcing the new regulations. GDA Board Chairperson Selva Kumari J., the divisional commissioner for Meerut, has stamped the proposal.
Currently, a 300 square metre or larger plot is located on a 12-metre road. Only four stilt-supported stories will be permitted above that.
On a piece of land that is less than 300 square metres, a two-meter-tall stilt floor can be built for parking in a home. Under such circumstances, a structure may be erected as high as 10.50 to 12.50 metres. Similarly, multi-residential buildings up to a height of 15 to 17.50 meters can be built if the plot is 300 square meters or larger and parking is made on stilts.
