A high alert issued for 29 villages due to the potential risk of flooding from the Yamuna and Hindon rivers, the local Health Department has gone into emergency mode. In a major step, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Akhilesh Mohan has cancelled all leaves for doctors and health workers deployed in these villages with immediate effect.

24-Hour Duty And Strict Monitoring Instructions

The CMO has issued strict directives for all health personnel to be present in their designated areas 24/7 to provide immediate and effective medical care to people affected by the potential floods.

He also issued a stern warning that if any doctor or staff member's mobile phone is found switched off, it will be treated as gross negligence. In such cases, the employee will face a salary deduction for the day, along with further disciplinary action.

Essential Supplies And Preparedness For Teams

Rapid Response and Static Medical Teams will remain fully active in the affected areas.

- Each team member must carry an essentials kit provided by the department, including a torch, scissors, candle, matchbox, drinking water, umbrella, and a PA system.

- Instructions have been given to ensure an adequate supply of medicines and medical items like ORS packets, chlorine tablets, anti-snake venom vials, and anti-rabies vaccines.

- A special medical kit must be kept ready in ambulances or Advanced Life Support (ALS) vehicles to handle the safe delivery of any pregnant women, under the supervision of a doctor and staff nurse.

- All ambulances have been placed on high alert, and it is mandatory to send a daily report on communicable diseases to the CMO's office.

These dedicated health teams have been stationed across 29 vulnerable villages, including Arthala, Karhera, Nekpur Sabitnagar, Surana and Kumhera, to manage emergency health services.
