Ghaziabad Train Fire: A chaotic situation prevailed at a railway station in Ghaziabad's Sahibabad after a fire broke out in the parcel coach of a special train in Sahibabad. The train was going from Delhi to Bihar's Purnia. It was immediately stopped in Ghaziabad after spotting fire.

The staff of the Uttar Pradesh Fire Services rushed to the spot soon after being informed about the burning train. They showed promptness and controlled the fire, after which the train was sent further.
The railway officials said they have launched an investigation into the matter. The cause of the fire will be ascertained in the probe, they added. No casualties have been reported in the incident, the officials said, adding that the assessment of loss of the properties is being done.

Over 12,000 Special Trains To Be Run During Festival
Meanwhile, the fire incident in the special train comes at a time when the Railway authorities are preparing to run thousands of extra festival trains.
Recently, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre has decided to run more than 12,000 special trains during the Diwali-Chhath festive season.
In a post on his X handle, the deputy chief minister said that the total number of special trains this year would be "12,739, up from 7,500 in 2024", and "already, notifications have been issued for 8,591". "This historical step is in line with the Modi government's commitment to facilitate lakhs of people from Bihar who wish to be in their home state during the festive season," the senior BJP leader added.
Choudhary thanked Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for their "special affection for Bihar" and showered praise on the "able leadership" of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
