The Ghaziabad Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) station is set to feature India’s first-ever rooftop restaurant within a transit hub, along with cafes, shopping outlets, wellness centres and banquet halls. The upcoming facility will allow passengers to dine while enjoying panoramic city views, even as routine commuter movement continues on the lower levels. Designed to blend travel with leisure, the initiative aims to transform the station into a multi-use urban space rather than merely a transit point.

When Will the Rooftop Cafe Open to the Public?

The official inauguration date of the rooftop cafe has not yet been announced. So far, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which is overseeing the Ghaziabad RRTS project, has only initiated the tendering process for the commercial space.

According to officials, a total of 18,578 square metres will be leased on a licence basis at a fixed rent, enabling the operation of shops, cafes, restaurants, wellness centres, pharmacies and other services. The lease period has been set at 25 years.

The commercial space has been divided across three levels:

  • Ground floor: 4,229 square metres

  • Upper Levels 1 and 2: 11,914 square metres

  • Core-A floors: 2,435 square metres

What Is the Last Date to Apply for a Licence?

Interested parties must submit applications through the e-tendering process by February 4. Detailed information on eligibility criteria, timelines and scope is available on the NCRTC website at ncrtc.in.

The Ghaziabad RRTS station is located in a densely populated area, close to major residential neighbourhoods such as Patel Nagar, Raj Nagar, Arya Nagar and Kavi Nagar. Its proximity to the city’s main bus terminal further enhances accessibility, ensuring consistently high footfall. As a result, the station is expected to emerge as a key commercial and lifestyle hub, making it a natural choice for the rooftop cafe initiative.
