Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Karnataka, including the capital city Bengaluru, are set to witness light to moderate rain for the next few days. The weather department asserted that the temperature in these districts is likely to drop in the upcoming days. Apart from this, the northern districts are also likely to witness cold waves and dense fog, especially in the early hours. The presence of fog has affected the visibility, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Raichur, Yadgir, Koppal, Gadag, Dharwad, Haveri, Bellary, and Vijayanagar, are set to witness a cold wave for the next five days. The residents of these regions are also likely to witness fog in the morning and evening hours.
The IMD further stated that several regions of Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, and Chikkaballapur districts. The minimum temperature is also likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius due to the continuous rainfall. The weather department stated that while the maximum temperature of Bengaluru is likely to be calculated at 25 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to remain around 14 degrees Celsius.
The capital city is also likely to witness cloudy skies and gentle breezes along with rain. The IMD stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in the key regions, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. However, the weather department has clarified that the temperature is likely to increase gradually after January 15.
The fishermen of the coastal regions have been advised to maintain a distance from the water bodies and limit their financial activities to avoid inconveniences.
