Bengaluru Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Karnataka, including the capital city Bengaluru are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall in the coming days. It further stated that the rain activities are expected to be accompanied by thunder, lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph. The weather department has stated that the overall temperature is likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius in the coming days.
IMD Issues Rain Alert
While providing details, the weather department stated that a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to cause rainfall in the southern and eastern states in the next three to four days. "A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to strengthen into a depression and possibly a deep depression before making landfall over northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha around September 23," IMD scientist CS Patil was quoted as saying by Deccan Herald.

"The system is expected to bring widespread rain across Karnataka until September 24, with rainfall intensity likely to increase on September 22 and 23," he added.
Bengaluru Weather Update
As per the weather department, the residents of Bengaluru are likely to witness cloudy skies and gentle breeze throughout the day. It stated that light rain is expected in the late hours, leading to inconveniences to the commuters. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 28 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 21 degrees Celsius.
Traffic Disrupted In Multiple Regions
Earlier on Monday, several regions of the capital city, including B Narayanapura Main Road, Marathahalli, Kadubeesanahalli, Varthur Kodi, Krishnarajapuram Outer Ring Road, SJP Road, Mahatma Gandhi Road, and Queen's Road, witnessed traffic congestion due to the heavy rainfall. The commuters have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid the rush.
