- IMD issues rain alert for multiple states

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that at least 13 states across the nation are set to witness light to heavy rainfall today. As per the weather department, the eastern states, including Odisha and West Bengal, are set to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds along with rain. Apart from this, the coastal regions of the southern states are also likely to witness similar weather conditions.
Rain Likely In Multiple States
While providing details, the weather department stated that light to heavy rain is likely in several states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Gujarat, West Bengal, Tripura, Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. It further stated that strong winds with speeds of up to 60 to 80 kilometers per hour are expected during this period.
Will It Rain In Delhi-NCR?
In its advisory, the IMD stated that Delhi and its nearby cities, including Noida and Gurugram, are not likely to experience any rain today. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 36 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to be calculated at 23 degrees Celsius.
Light Rain Likely In UP
The weather department has issued a light rain alert for several districts of eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, such as Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Bhadohi, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Basti, and Siddharthnagar. The farmers have been advised to follow the guidelines and protect the crops during rainfall.
Jharkhand To Witness Heavy Rain
Apart from this, heavy rainfall is expected in many districts of Jharkhand, including capital city Ranchi, Bokaro, Chatra, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, East Singhbhum, Garhwa, Giridih, Godda, Gumla, Hazaribagh, and Jamtara. The continuous rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconvenience to the local commuters.
IMD Forecast For Odisha
The IMD also stated that extremely heavy rainfall is likely in multiple districts of Odisha, including Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Kalahandi, and Rayagada, for the next two to three days. The residents have been advised to stay updated and limit their outings during the rain.
