To address daily traffic congestion on NH-9 near Sector-62, the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation (Setu Nigam) will construct two approach roads in Vasundhara. The new roads will provide direct entry and exit points to the elevated road for traffic heading towards and coming from Delhi, reducing vehicle pressure on NH-9 and offering relief to thousands of motorists from Vasundhara and Indirapuram.
Currently, motorists in these areas are forced to use CISF Road and NH-9 to reach Delhi, as the elevated road connecting Rajnagar Extension to the UP-Delhi border lacks access points in Vasundhara for Delhi-bound traffic. As a result, heavy jams are reported daily.
The plan, suggested by City MLA Sanjeev Sharma, has already been surveyed by Bridge Corporation officials. “Two 400-metre approach roads will be built, linking the elevated road to CISF Road. This will save commuters time and fuel while easing congestion on NH-9,” Sharma said.
According to Rajnish Yadav, Project Manager of the Ghaziabad unit of the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Limited, the construction cost is estimated at around Rs 90 crore.
A Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared and will be submitted to the government for approval. Work will begin once the budget is sanctioned.
