The Ghaziabad Traffic Police continued their special campaign to curb road accidents and traffic congestion for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. Prompted by Dainik Jagran’s ongoing road safety initiative, the drive focuses on identifying and closing illegal road cuts that pose a threat to pedestrians and cause frequent traffic jams.

Action In Indirapuram And Tila Mod

Following actions at Naya Ghaziabad Phatak and Ghantaghar on Monday, the police took significant measures in the Indirapuram and Tila Mod areas on Tuesday.

Mangal Bazar Chowk (Indirapuram): The traffic police team completely closed a notorious illegal cut near Mangal Bazar Chowk. Officials noted that vehicles turning at this spot had caused several collisions in the past. To prevent recurrence, the barricading has been reinforced to ensure that two-wheeler riders cannot remove them to create a passage.

Bhopura Road (Tila Mod): A second operation was conducted on Bhopura Road. An illegal cut near the police station, which had previously been blocked but reopened by two-wheeler riders, was sealed again. Police emphasized that this route is used by heavy and high-speed vehicles; sudden turns here not only lead to accidents but also result in long traffic queues.

Official Statement And Public Appeal

The traffic police believe that eliminating these illegal cuts will significantly reduce accidents and improve traffic flow. Officials have appealed to the public to use only designated U-turns and legal cuts. They warned against removing barricades, stating that such acts endanger public safety and disrupt city order.

Traffic DCP TrigunBisen said, "Illegal cuts are being continuously monitored and closed. In the coming days, traffic personnel will continue to identify and close illegal cuts on major roads."
