To address challenges within the healthcare sector and find viable solutions, the Incubation Centre at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida is launching the "Doctors' Idea for India Centre" and "Nirmaan" next week.

Under these initiatives, 40 medical experts from various parts of the country will gather at GIMS. They will discuss healthcare-focused startup clinics, new product development, the state's first IPR clinic, and a "clinic start OPD."

The Nirmaan programme, initiated by the GIMS Incubation Centre, received 100 applications from medical professionals across the country. After a review, 20 of these ideas were selected.

Meanwhile, the Doctors' Idea for India Centre received more than 60 applications, from which 20 experts were also chosen. These individuals were selected for their ability to contribute to the nation's healthcare sector and assist in creating new equipment, devices and medicines based on innovative ideas.

The main objective of launching these programmes is to make all medical care-related items available at low prices, both in the country and for the entire world.

Focus Will Be On Creating New Devices Through Medical Research

Under the state government's 'Start in UP' policy, the 20 experts selected for the 14-day Nirmaan programme will present their medical care-related innovations under one roof at GIMS. The experts will be given the opportunity to work in their chosen fields at GIMS itself, where every facility, including patent assistance, will be provided.

Medical consultation will also be arranged. With consultation from GIMS doctors, discussions will be held on developing low-cost medical devices, medicines, health screening equipment, vaccines, and kits for India and the world.

How Easily Can Problems Be solved

At GIMS, the 20 experts under the Doctors' Idea for India Centre will focus on finding solutions to problems faced by doctors and healthcare workers, particularly those related to medical devices and digital health.

The ideas and problems of India's doctors and startups will be discussed, addressing the everyday startup challenges faced by healthcare workers concerning equipment, consultation, and digital health. The goal is to ensure that problems identified by doctors can be converted into the simplest possible solutions for India.
