In a major push to alleviate traffic congestion, the Greater Noida Authority has approved the construction of a service road along the 130-metre-wide corridor connecting Greater Noida and Greater Noida West. The road will run from the Tilpata roundabout to the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) flyover near Sakipur.

Officials said the seven-metre-wide service road, with two lanes on each side, will span about one kilometre. Currently, several stretches of the main 130-metre road lack a functional service road, forcing vehicles onto the main carriageway and creating heavy traffic pressure.

With flight operations set to begin at the Noida International Airport, vehicle numbers are expected to rise further. In anticipation, the authority has prepared an action plan to complete the service road construction. A tender has already been issued for the project.

Senior Manager Narottam Singh confirmed that work will begin soon, while Greater Noida Authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar said widening of busy roads and construction of new ones are also underway. He added that instructions have been given to expedite the service road project, alongside the creation of a dedicated busway on the 130-metre-wide road.
