The Greater Noida Authority is taking steps to reduce traffic congestion around Gaur City in Greater Noida West. Alongside the ongoing construction of an underpass at Char Murti Chowk, the Authority has begun work to widen and repair the service road connecting Char Murti Chowk to the Tigri roundabout.
On the directions of CEO NG Ravi Kumar, Work Circle One of the Project Department has initiated preparations for the project. ACEO Sumit Yadav highlighted the heavy traffic pressure on the 60-metre-wide main road and stated that the service road will be widened from 5.50 metres to 10.50 metres to ensure smoother vehicle movement.
The underpass construction at Char Murti Chowk is expected to significantly ease traffic at the intersection. Currently, a narrow culvert near Gaur City 1, measuring 5.50 metres, is contributing to congestion. Work to widen this culvert to 10.50 metres has already begun.
During a recent inspection of Gaur City and surrounding areas, ACEO Sumit Yadav also instructed officials to fill potholes on existing roads. Preparations are underway for resurfacing the service road of the 60-metre-wide road between Char Murti Chowk and Tigri roundabout, with the tendering process currently in progress.
