Following the arrest of Delhi resident Farhan Nabi Siddiqui by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in the Kasna industrial area, local police have launched their own investigation into the case.
Siddiqui was arrested by the UP ATS on charges of raising Rs 11 crore in foreign funding to spread enmity between religious communities and sheltering Bangladeshi infiltrators.
The Allegations And Operation
The investigation has revealed that books containing inflammatory material were published at a factory in Kasna, which had reportedly been operating for the past two years. According to sources, inflammatory material was seized at the time of the accused's arrest.
The factory, identified as Hakikat Printing Publication at D-192, was allegedly used to publish books aimed at spreading hostility and enmity between religious and other groups.
Farhan, the arrested accused, is a co-director of a fundraising firm named Istanbul International Company. He operates several companies along with an associate, Nasi Torba. Authorities report that money was brought into their companies from abroad (including Turkey and Germany) through hawala and other channels. These funds were then used to purchase land to build mosques and madrasas in Amroha in UP and in Punjab. It was also noted that many people would visit from Turkey and Germany, a fact that was not reported to the police.
Local Police Investigation
The Kasna police are now investigating local connections. They have contacted the factory's employees and the accused's brother for questioning.
On Sunday, police visited the factory to investigate whether any of the Rs 11 crore raised was spent on any mosque or religious event in Noida or Greater Noida. However, police state that no leads have been found yet. They are also trying to ascertain if the individuals had purchased land for a mosque or madrasa in the local area.

The police investigation also revealed that the factory at D-192 was operating in an area with several empty, nearby warehouses. Farhan reportedly did not have much contact with people in the vicinity.
