Greater Noida: Six-Year-Old Dies During MRI At Private Diagnostic Centre, Family Alleges Overdose Or Expired Medication

A six-year-old boy tragically passed away during an MRI procedure at a private diagnostic centre in Greater Noida on Saturday. His family has accused the facility of negligence and the administration of expired medication or an overdose.

The centre was sealed on Friday, and a four-member committee was established to investigate the incident, as confirmed by Dr Chandan Soni from the Gautam Buddha Nagar Health Department, who spoke to PTI.

The precise cause of death has not yet been determined and will be established following the completion of the inquiry.

The incident occurred on Thursday when the child, a resident of Dungarpur village, was taken to the diagnostic centre in the Pie-3 area for an MRI scan.

Family members stated that the boy was in good health prior to the procedure, but they believe that negligence on the part of the centre led to his death. The boy’s father, Vicky, has filed a complaint at the Beta-2 police station against the diagnostic centre.

"An FIR will be registered after the report of the medical enquiry is received," the police said. Further investigation is underway, they said.
